  • You're here because of Final Fantasy 13, aren't you?

  • @korisx Yuna is too fragile and cliche... I like the whole deadened emotion thing Lightning has going.

  • @TheBloodyBlackJackal I would call them overzealous.

  • @MBJester1215 Now your speaking of in the moment thing. Jumping on top of someone while the ceiling is falling; is not the same as outright deciding to trade your life...

  • @zenzen126 She lives in a culture that deems the being a high summoning martyr a good thing... If you think that makes her noble, than you mind as well call the 911 terrorists noble...

  • @TheBloodyBlackJackal Well there is still the fact that she could have left it to someone else to do, there were several other talented summoners in Spira. That choice in essence is what makes her conviction to be a "High Summoner" a noble course of action.

  • @TheBloodyBlackJackal I can't help but feel you're missing the point of an action like that. Maybe reckless sacrifice (some disfunctional desire to play the role of a martyr where a situation may not really be that dire), yes. But in the case of true desparity, it's the very definition of noble. It's not a case of running from the fear of having to deal with the loss of someone loved, it's a fact of caring so much you instinctively defend them from pain regardless of cost to self.

  • @TheBloodyBlackJackal True, but she manages to find her own strength and resolve once they reach Zanarkand and talk to Yunalesca. True, there are other instances where she depends on others on what to do and where to look (such as Kimahri telling her that she shouldn't run when on the airship), but they are fair and few between. I believe X-2 was about about her spreading her wings and becoming the person she always was deep down and that Tidus helped her to discover.

  • ♥♥

  • @zenzen126 Quite frankly being the "true hero" and sacrificing yourself for others is quite selfish, not noble... Its weakness, its basically saying; "I can't endure living without you, therefore I'd rather force you to live without me"....

  • @zenzen126 It doesn't matter why she has that personality only that the personality is over used and cliche... LOL wonderful, so shes a suicidal damsel in distress; so noble of her to be willing to sacrifice herself in a miserable world to make the rest happy =)... Actually its not that noble, its 1+2 equals 3 logic... Your stuck in a jail and tortured with 5 other people, the jailer decides he'll let them all go if you kill yourself. Quite logical to go along with it

  • @SONGbyrdRYzing Shes the typical damsel in distress character. Shes the weak and fragile "girl next door" who always has to lean on the "knight in shining armor", and whatever other companions she has; for protection... The trope has always been used, since the beginning of story telling.
