This is the Invitation Intro to the Spring Break '99 demo party in San Diego, CA. It was developed by Lightspeed, specifically by Beek (Chris J. Hampton) and Pfister (Jim Crawford).
The scrolltext for this intro is quite long -- infinite, in fact, because it has code to generate more text after it runs out -- so unfortunately I had to cut it early so you could see the Crackbot before we hit the 10 minute limit mandated by YouTube. However, I've uploaded the entire length of the scroll text at http://goombas.org/sb99inv.html
There's a bit towards the beginning where the demo freezes and you hear a nasty DMA loop of the audio in the mixing buffer. This wasn't intentional, but it's authentic to the time period, so I left it in. Also I'm lazy.

I don't remember how hard we tried to distribute it. It's not in the Hornet archive. Was Hornet still around in March of 1999? If not, I think we would've just thrown up our hands and distributed it to the #trax folks via DCC.
