Looters have managed to break into the Egyptian museum in Cairo during violent protests and Several priceless and ancient artefacts were damaged.

Officials say nothing was stolen, but the images of empty cabinets suggest otherwise.

Troops have now secured the museum and authorities at sites across the country have taken precautions to secure antiquities.

Al Jazeera's Will Jordan reports.

  • @jackasskidzify don't worry, Hawass already sold all the good shit.

  • You can bet your ass that it was none other than Hawass that profited from this so called break in. He's been dealing in antiquities for years and changing history to suit his purposes. Be leery of anyone with ass in his name. Egyptologists will eventually get their just rewards considering they've sold their soul to the Giza Intelligence.

  • oh sayanga oi. they shouldn't break any from the museum. :(

  • fuck the past and all governments

  • Why can't Obama send some Oakland or New York cops there to protect Egyptian History?

  • Egyptians need to realize that they will suffer more than any other so called arab nation if they continue to ignore their own unique reality. protesting is one issue, but they need to realize democracy is not an item or a collection of items that you can buy from a nearby local shop or can be imported, democracy is a culture and a way of life that encompasses everything, therefore, accept the benefits of a slow and a progessive change rather than demanding more.

  • @ahamatmabrahman The guy who in charge of the Egyptian archeology is a fraud anyway. In fact he is holding back true history with his own imaginary scenario. Im sure he got caught faking evidence on his tv show once.

  • @lilsm555 The first thing Bush ordered the troops to do in Iraq was to loot all the artifacts of the museum and bring them to America This a way of wiping out a peoples history

  • @egyptswain1 See previous response moron.

  • if i saw those people breaking priceless artifacts i would have shot them and then cut off their hands and pull their eyes out
