Interlaken is another well known tourist destination in the Bernese Oberland in Switzerland. We stopped there during our weekend trip from Lucerne to Grindelwald by car.
Interlaken is actually one of the oldest tourist resorts in Switzerland, and it remains one of the most popular. The town offers tourists a peacful base from which to explore the surrounding areas by train (see also http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=u4tAYQRAOXg ) or bus. The main attraction is probably the magnificent Jungfrau region with the Jungfrau mountain (4158 m / 13642 ft) which can be even reached by train (see http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=C84BYGj46hQ ).
A bit less spectacular but also very peaceful and folcloristic are the cows in Interlaken, which this video features... the cows are just like everywhere in Switzerland: they are wearing bells, eating grass and giving milk.
