the documentary was seen on tv just before roland garros 1979. René Lacoste and bjorn borg were the guest of this french program named "les dossiers de l'écran" and it was every friday with a diferent subject every time like sd war, de gaulle etc. You can buy it on the INA site.

Altough Italy had had reat tennis players, you played some davis cup finals and was champion in 1976, the same year adriano won roland garros...............

Ashe was in the last moments of his career in 1978.....his best years were the late 60s and the earlies 70s.......Willy Vilas was at his best in 1978!!!!

I don't know what happened with italian tennis after 'panatta era'....italy used to have important tournament, and i think that many people practise tennis there.....why didn't they have a player like panatta??? Greetings from Spain.

Pablo, it' hard to say because we don't have another champion like Panatta. I think there are some periods in which a great champion arise and other in which there is no champion. We wait for..... who knows if the next future we'll succeed in finding another Adriano....... Greetings from Italy......
