Dr. Ika's Ceriatone OTS

With this clip I would like to thank three guys: Robben Ford for inspiration, Alexander Dumble for designing overdrive special amp and Nik Azam from Ceriatone for building me great sounding clone Overtone Special.
Equipment used: Mirage custom built guitar with Dimarzio heavy blues noiseless neck and mid pickups, Kent armstrongs motherbucker humbucker in the bridge. Lava cable.
Ceriatone OTS 50w head, CCC 2x12 cabinet with Celestion Century speakers and built in microphone capsule. Backing track is my original composition Honey.

i'd like to ask u a few things...

the heavy bues are about 8.5 kOhm, and the motherbucker is about 23 kOhm...

what value of pots did u use for the volume and tone knobs? does the motherbucker sound too dark becuse of the possibly lower-than-required pot value?

@schecterGman I use 1 meg logarithmic pots and 500 k tone pot with off switch !!! so it's disconnected when I need to.

Motherbucker is dark because of it's high impedance.

@pickmaster pickmaster have you thought of using "no-load" pots. on "10" it'll automaticly bypass the pot (no switch needed) and from "1-9" it works like a normal pot. Fender sells them as 250k pots but it's possible to get higher values. Not that it's really needed due to the bypass.

That bypass is great though. It adds some nice overtones and pick sensativity that you can't normally get.

23k bridge pickup!? and i thought my 16k telecaster pickup was wound hot :)

Ha,ha,ha... yes my man, I have push-pull pots on my amps. But I'm not useing them much.

It is not 23k, it is 27,5k!!! actually it has THREE pickups in one works with mini 3 way toggle switch, goes - telecaster, Gibson and super distortion.

What version of the Overtone did you get? Do this amp have a decent clean headroom considering his power? I'm thinking of buying one!

@pickmaster thats awesome i have a four way switch on my tele even with my hot wound pickups both of the together is 24K. I love what the thick midrange does on the drive channel.

Im interested in this motherbucker im going to have to buy another guitar now =P
