@chinacat "Hell Yeah"! The youngest of the Gen-Xers. We rule!

It makes sense that this PSA was sponsored by the New York State Department of Health. At this time, I was watching border stations eminating from NYS. Another anti-smoking PSA on at that time was called "Break Free"; it was a Canadian anti-smoking public service announcement. Luba, who sang the song, was at the height of her popularity in Canada when that PSA was recorded. It was sponsored by Health & Welfare Canada (as it. was known then). If anyone has Break Free, please upload it.

I saw these commercials when I was a kid on channel 11 (just not sure why they still to this day show Dairy Queen spots when they'll never be in NY). And I remember the "Cigarette Mash". Memories.

I remember at one point, the 60s Batman TV series was on Channel 5 during the 1980s. IIRC, Super Friends ran head to head against Batman for a short time.

@JMFabianoRPL I may be mistaking it for another version, I know Channel 11 did add another version of Super Friends to their rerun cycle in 1985, can't remember which version though. Always thought it was the LSPS, for some reason.

@johnissoevil That I don't remember AT ALL. I don't recall seeing that outside of ABC before the CN reruns and then DVDs.
-
@JMFabianoRPL Yep, they did. I think they also picked up the Legendary Super Powers Show in fall of 85.

well thats probably not gonna happen, cuz most kids now a days dont give a shit about cartoons
we need cartoons back on local Tv so kids can enjoy watching TV like we did back in the 1980s
