Although the meaning is frequently misconstrued, I believe this *is* a patriotic song in a way. Refusing to forget the people who fought and died for your country, and those who survived but lost their jobs and homes, is a million times more patriotic than flag-waving and pretending everything is ok.

@ogredm From lowest to highest pitch the tuning is DADAAD. As for why it sounds minor, in one of the persistent raga melodies he plays a flat seventh which gives things a minor sound, but even more than that is his vocals which are clearly blues influenced.
