Sort of. The NME gave away a tape cassette in '86 with some bands that they were interested in/promoting at the time, most of whom had that jingly-jangly 60s vibe that you can hear on Velocity Girl. And the Stone Roses were big fans, and they nicked the opening melody for the chorus of Made of Stone. 'Talent borrows, genius steals', as some Irish bloke once said.
