Why didn't Barack Obama distance himself from Rev. Wright and his hate speech. A lot of people are confused.

  • As an Obama supporter, I think your generalizations about Obama supporters feeling betrayed are greatly exaggerated. I, for one, loved the speech, and was quite comforted by it, even if I do still have reservations about Rev. Wright.

He could have taken the easy way out and disavowed Wright. I think he took the more courageous avenue in explaining the situation, and disavowing the views without crucifying the man.

Count me as still inspired and pro-Obama.

  • He made some good points in his speech but most Americans will view it as cynical. He did not put the problem to bed. I respect him for being loyal but that will not translate into picking up independant votes.

  • I feel for those voters who initially felt inspired by the guy because he is a talented guy.

  • lol...this is funny. You guys make me laugh so much.

Just listen to yourself. You said he lied to you about the pastor. But why did he have to tell the truth about his grandma? hehehehe

    *sigh*

  • He was making excuses and giving his pastor a free pass. I never said he lied! But he is lying to himself if he thinks the American People will elect someone who cannot even stand up to his pastor.

  • Your comments are spot on...Obama has problems. I'm a lifelong DEM and I CANNOT vote for this guy in the general. Obama has lost the confidence of middle-class white males.

  • I give alot of his supporters grief but I do feel for a couple groups of his voters. I feel for the black voters that got excited and energized. I feel for the black parents that told there kids to look up to him.

I also feel for the young first time voters that were sucked in.

I exclude the wealthy educated white voters that should have had enough common sense to see through this.

I 've been screaming this stuff for a while. I live in "his" state of Illinois.

  • He's racist. He said Islamic people are white people embracing the black skin.

  • NO!! Obama offers no hope. He is total discouragement. He tells people that they can NOT do it without the federal government. He may talk hope but the reality is total discouragement. He and his wife are bitter, hateful people who have worked on a slick image.

  • whatever. Still you are laughable!
