This is a great water bottle for camping. Well, thats what the manufacture claims. This past spring I tried out the water bottle by dipping it in the pool. While, no one likes to drink pool water its still safe, right? I have to admit it did a great job of removing the chlorine. My family all tried it and no one tasted anything but water. However, our summer vacation in Medicine Bow National Forrest seems like the perfect opportunity to try the water bottle with filter in the field. So, for four days we camped at just over ten thousand feet and I drank water exclusively from the Echo2 water bottle with the Ionic Filtration system from every stream and lake along the way. Happily I can say the water not only tasked great but was good to drink. I had no ill effects! This is a great water bottle for camping.

It is really amazing. The park (Medicine Bow, Wy.) is only open a few months a year. The camp sites are at 10,000 feet and just pristine! Great views and hiking in all directions. I highly recommend it.

  • Hi IKSA,

I can't tell you anything about LifeSaver. I have used the Echo2 on several occasions. All good results. Drank pool water from it and of course the lake water. My daughter and son also drank from it both times with no ill effects. The details which come with the bottle list all kinds of stuff it will remove. Its great when your hiking somewhere and can just dip it in. However, I would not do that in a city stream. Hope that helps.

  • Hey CeleryStreet. Im wondering which filter bottle is better: The Echo2 or the LifeSaver. The LS one seems very expensive. did the ECHO2 make you sick? can you tell me a bit about the echo2? thanks.
