LG Display, a leading innovator of thin-film transistor liquid crystal display (TFT-LCD) technology, has formed a strategic alliance with Cree Inc., a US-based LED (light emitting diodes) chip manufacturer. LG Display signed a supply agreement with Cree for LED chips to be used in LCD backlighting in early January. Under the agreement, LG Display secures a stable supply of LED chips, a key component in next-generation LCD products, and receives technological support from Cree for LED packaging. Available material includes LG Display's headquarters shots as well as video of LED monitors and notebooks.
