  • Ben, the film is amazing! What a great tribute to this great place.

It was so great working with all you guys! I hope we'll cross paths again.

  • I showed the last film. I showed the first fikm when it reopened as the Carlton. It was a great place to be.

  • Fantastic Cinema, one of the great last remaining 30s Cinemas. A great loss to the city of Portsmouth.

  • A great little cinema it was THE flagship of Cannon Films when it went through its 3 screen conversion! I worked there as a projectionist! and moved on to other Cannon Cinemas. Those were the days when you were proud to be part of the cinema. Screen 1 was THE biggest screen on the south coast about 60 feet wide! As for Marks comment about Ghostbusters, it actually played at Christmas! I miss the staff as we were all like one big family!

  • I spent alot of my youth in there.. I watched Ghostbusters 6 times that summer Holiday!!.. loved it!.. My Auntie used to work there so i didnt have to pay either. think it used to be the Cannon Cinema back then :)

  • The poster signs outside, are the original installations from the ABC (EMI) and Cannon Cinema era.

  • Such a lovely old cinema, a big loss to the city, shame they had to knock it down R.I.P Carlton Cinema

  • Thanks Ben.
