Materials:
-Quarter Yard White Cloth
-Hot Glue Gun
-2 Pieces of Letter Sized Paper

Steps:
1. Fold one piece of paper long ways. This will be your bottom part, we will call it piece A.
2. Fold one piece of paper short ways then in half again. This will be your top part, we will call this piece B.
3. Cut diagonally to create a trapezoid shape.
4. Take your cloth and fold it to the size of piece A. Height should be the same but lengthwise you want it to be a tad bit larger. Double it and cut in half lengthwise so you have a piece for the front and back.
5. Glue the long side, turn inside out so you have a sleeve. Both pieces.
6. Take your cloth and cut out piece B. Make it a little bit wider than the paper so it'll fit your head tightly. It should really only be a little bit bigger than piece B.
7. Hot glue gun the outer edge sides, turn inside out.
8. Fit piece B to piece A(doesn't matter front or back piece), glue about half way.
9. Take both pieces of A(front and back) and take the outer edges and fold inside to create a cleaner edge.
10. Glue top of both pieces of A together, all sides of the top should be glued together, leave bottom open, this is where your head goes.
11. Peek inside and open up piece B to create space for your head.

  • From 1:37-1:45 I have no idea what you're doing.

I can't really see, cause you took it away from the camera for a short moment. (And the written directions just confused me further...) (>///A//<)\ (I'm an extremely visual person.... (x_x)\ )

Am I supposed to use the *whole* rectangle shape for part B? (using the whole fabric to make the trapezoid)

Or do I cut away that part and have the trapezoid shape?

  • @NekoHitoSan i tore the fabric instead of cutting it since its muslin material it was easier to tear it rather than go through the trouble of cutting it with scissors.

basically you're "doubling" by folding the piece of fabric in half so you got the top of the nurse hat.

i encourage that you try to make it and then try figuring it out, if you cut out PART B the way i did in the video you'll be able to figure out what part of the hat it is.

sorry for the confusion, best of luck.

  • I did try making this and it was a success :). The tutorial was good and was very helpful :3.

  • @laCathiee :) i would assume it would work, i used hot glue because it dries faster!

  • Stupid question...but can you use fabric glue instead of hot glue? >_>

  • thaaaaaaaaaaank you so much for the tutorial!!

it turned out sooooooo awesome :DDD

    thank youu *hug* :D

  • Great job! The hat turned out awesome! Looks so much easier than sewing it. I'm going to try to make this costume, your tutorials are very helpful. Thanks!

  • shitty vid, sorry

  • @missNewVegas either way works but if you do it before make sure it is dried thoroughly before trying to glue or the glue wont stick!
