This is a game I'm making using Unity 3.1.0 for my University project. This video shows about roughly a month of development on the game.

It's pretty far from finished, but this is just an early look at how it's coming along. There are glaring omissions like a HUD, Inventory, experience system and some 3D models for the town. All of which will be added in the upcoming weeks...Hopefully.

Sources for the current 3D models used.
Tree Models - http://unity3dmall.com/store?page=shop.product_details&flypage=flypage.tp...

Slug Models - http://www.burgzergarcade.com/product/educational-use/3d-models/slugger-3d-mo...

Other assets such as grass, textures and the main model are part of Unity's standard asset package.

Main game music is from Danosongs.com and the menu music was created by me.

  • so what are you showing here ?

    grass some lady and lag?

  • @MrBabilin I'm showing just what I did so far at the time. It was just so I could show it to my tutor as I didn't have a laptop at the time to demo it.

I have projectiles, a lady following the player (which I admit is not very impressive) and an enemy the player can kill. The lag is because my PC isn't fast enough to play the game and record a video.

This was after using the Unity engine for roughly 4 weeks on top of other Uni modules I was doing at the time. I'm a newbie at using Unity.

    3. make the terrain first (then show it on youtube) then the characters then show it on youtube, and then add the scripts, you will get the game done much faster

    4. because you just started unity get a strong point, ether modeling or scripting then join a group they will help you get better

    5. show your models by themselves instead of a clutter like in this video, people will want you to join there groups then.

    6 have fun =)

  • @MrBabilin Thanks for the advice, that's pretty much how I created it but obviously I didn't post a video of each stage like you mentioned. My strong point is scripting/coding so that's gonna pretty much be my focus, though I don't think I'm quite ready to be involved in groups yet as I have a great deal to learn but I'm getting there.

And thanks I will do, already been having fun so far :)
