On September 11, 2011, the 9/11 Memorial was dedicated in a commemoration ceremony marking the tenth anniversary of the 9/11 attacks.

The Memorial design is defined by two reflecting pools, a grove of trees and the names of the victims inscribed in bronze. The reflecting pools are nearly an acre in size and feature the largest man made waterfalls in the North America. The pools sit within the footprints where the Twin Towers once stood. The names of every person who died in 1993 and 2001 attacks are inscribed in bronze panels edging the Memorial pools.

On September 12, 2011, the 9/11 Memorial opened to the public.

  • Almost 10 years... and to think that when it happened I didn't give a fuck about it.

But now it's been ten years of growing up, today I understand the magnitude of the events that took place that gray day.

New York will always have a huge scar on it's mind, no matter what the Port Authority does to hide it. Peace.

  • Can't Waite to visit.

  • The whole country needs this memorial, and it's now in place. The healing after 10 years now has a new spirit. Can't wait to visit.

  • @ferchosarmy How is a memorial 'hiding it'...
