Here's what is messed up about Chain Reaction. This is a great show. I actually liked the remake on GSN. The problem isn't the game itself. It was the ineptiude of the stupid contestants who had no idea what word association is. They even had to dumb down the bonus game because of the contestants. I was unwatchable. Only because of the contestants!

I totally agreed with that comment. David Letterman's morning talk show was a farcical embarrassment for the NBC Television Network in June 1980. "Chain Reaction" should have stayed on the NBC Television Network until June 1982. Good Morning!!

There is no good reason this show couldn't survive as a network show today. Just get some new smarter contestants!

@PatrioticPirate No problem. A lot of good game shows would never work today because of this Jerry Springer generation of dumbed down reality shows. Word shows are great, but the contestants are not the best.

@Hondo20132 True. Also blame Fred Silverman. This show would've lasted another 3 or 4 years had he'd not greenlit Letterman's failed daytime show.

I, honestly, liked the USA version best. It was the only version that had kept the same endgame throughout its entire run.
