A Classical Guitar arrangement of "The Shadow Of Your Smile" (aka "The Love Theme from The Sandpiper) which was a song featuring in the 1965 film "The Sandpiper" featuring Richard Burton and Elizabeth Taylor. I remember seeing this film as a child and the music has lived with me ever since.
The music was written by Johnny Mandel and Classical Guitar arrangement by Laurindo Almeida.
Performed as an example of the various styles of guitar music he performs at public and private concerts and functions, Stuart plays both Classical (Nylon strung) and Acoustic and Semi-acoustic Steel strung guitars with tunes ranging from Classical pieces written by Sor, Tarrega, Carcassi et al. through popular tunes, such as "Blue Moon", "Cavatina" and "The Shadow of your Smile", including Ragtime pieces, such as "The Entertainer", "Maple Leaf Rag" and many other, ... to Jazz classics such as "I've Got Rhythm", "Tears" and "Georgia".
He performs regularly as a solo guitarist at public and private functions offering an appropriate selection of tunes to suit the event from his wide repertoire.
Not only does he play solo guitar but is an active member of the family band "The Tindalls" featuring wife Paula and daughters Sarah (age 17) and Kathryn (age 14), performing a wide range of songs and tunes including Traditional Folk songs such as "The Water is Wide", the 1960-80's songs of Joni Mitchell, James Taylor, Bob Dylan and The Beatles, through to Fleetwood Mac Classic such as "Rhiannon", "Landslide" and "The Chain" at Folk Clubs, Folk Festivals and other music events & venues.
