i hope scientists do not discover prematurelly. First, we need to establish population control mechanism before we kill planet. Stabilize human growth then next fusion resource utilization.

people need to start questioning their assumptions about the 'progress' of technological civilization. What is that 'progress', and why exactly is it so fucking important? Does civilization actually progress, or does it just do the same bullshit in new ways?
I highly recommend Jacques Ellul's 'The Technological Society,' or any of John Zerzan's work. It might change the way you look at things.

Maybe fusion power could be developed. Just in case it can't, we should also develop steam tower technology in the west which can generate temperatures high enough to melt metal or can generate electricity on an industrial scale. Hopefully, the electric grid can be updated enough during the Obama administration to support that possibility. That, combined with using geothermal heat pumps in buildings & homes might help quite a bit.
