This is an introductory video on powder painting jigheads at home. We shot a video on pouring your own jigs. In this video we talk about the necessary tools, and go through step by step how to paint your fishing jigs. We paint screw lock football shaky jigheads in this video with both one color powder paint and two color powder paint effects. Products used in this video are TJ's Tackle fluid bed, a heat gun, lead jigheads, Fishboss.com Jig Armor powder paint.

  • How do you keep the weedguards from getting melted/painted?

  • @Fishingallday31 I paint my jigheads without weed guards in them and then I epoxy them after curing them in the oven. There are tubes you can buy from Do-It. Just do a search on their page. But I always had more luck by painting the jigs without the weedguards.

  • Very nice video,well done....

  • TIP: Use needle nose pliers to hold jig by the eye when powder coating. The pliers will cover the eye and wont be exposed to the powder resulting in a nice clean eye and no extra work to clean it.
