The undefeated Howe High School Football Team won the 1952 Class 'D' State Championship and the banner honoring that occasion will be proudly placed on display at Billerica Memorial High School.
As the historian for the HOWE/BMHS football team, I can tell you, what won it for Billerica that year was the fact that THREE of the nine games were against Class C teams. St. Charles (Waltham) now closed, Lexington and Maynard. Billerica (Howe) went 9-0-0 that year beating St. Charles (13-0); Dracut (27-0); Somerville Voke/Trade (27-0); Lexington (13-6); Fairhaven (39-20); Tewskbury (26-0); Maynard (14-6); Ayer (14-6) and CHELMSFORD (19-0).
