The Cyclotron Kids: Teenagers building an Atom Smasher?!

The Cyclotron Kids (Heidi Baumgartner, Peter Heuer, and German Diagama) are building a cyclotron, a type of particle accelerator that they will use to speed up protons to high velocities. When the protons collide with something, they can produce new particles out of the energy that was put into them. The Cyclotron Kids are going to use this process to create antimatter particles called positrons, and be the first teenagers to do so!

Damn Im 17 and I haven't done anything like that I just read books. At 16 those kids have already built an atom smasher. But I don't have any money, what can I do?
