We're ridiculously excited for Scott Pilgrim vs. The World, the long-awaited adaptation to Brian Lee O'Malley's comic series, to come to theaters this August. After the movie trailer hit the internets, we couldn't help but over-analyze every single frame. Check out our thoughts, as well as a side-by-side comparison to the source material, in the latest edition of Frame By Frame.

  • frame-by-frame the new trailer please! it's incredible how much of the books they're keeping in the film. subspace, knives vs ramona, even the 'L-word' joke! exciting :D

  • @moeezS I hadn't read them either and decided to track them down. I've read the first 2 books now and it's actually really funny in a nice way, not a 'We made a joke' way. Check them out.

  • Fighting 7 ex-boy friends? just move on it's obvious she a hoe anyways.

  • While it's true they changed a LOT of plot details for this movie, it's incredibly difficult to squeeze 6 volumes of story into a 2 hour window. I think it was done perfectly, and they picked the right areas to be minimalists for time's sake. The true heart and soul of the epic is preserved 100%. Maybe it's because I was already a fan of the series, but I can watch this movie until the end and restart it. Definitely registered as my favorite movie the day I saw it in theaters.

  • 3:20 That's not actually Lucas Lee, it's a stunt double!

  • SPOILER:

swords: power of love and the power of self-respect (stronger than the power of love)

  • @JoshuaQuail they just mention subspace, knives vs ramona doesn't take place in the same.....place like in the comic, and they got rid of most of the important stuff from the comics .....i hope this information is very spoiler-ish for the people who didn't see the movie yet !!!

  • 4:38 Ramona's head is glowing...

  • Near the end. Ramona's head is glowing.... :))

  • Rofl, I loved Young Neil

  • This will sooooo be the best visualnovel-movie representation
