@tudierudielovesJesus Africa is a big place.........................­........If blacks weren't brought to America it's very possible that Africa would have been in the position America is now. America isn't even a great country anymore. Furthermore blacks suffer daily from poverty and racism. While poverty isn't as big of an issue in America as in Africa, blacks have maintained their position as the poorest race. Even though racism is as blatant as it once was it still dictates a lot of things.

You are taking this 'cut' without hearing the question that was asked. He is implying that if the slaves weren't brought to the (West Indies the to the US) HE may have never been born into this society and trying to help his modern-day blacks. Incidentally, I listened to an interview recently - Jan 24, 2012 - the society 'Black Enterprise' has helped many black 'boys and girls' to get an education / a job / or start their own business. Mr H couldn't have helped if ancestors weren't slaves.

While I do believe that a certain demoralization has taken place in many African American communities. It simply is not helpful nor ethical for this man to be thanking white folks for slavery. To actually compare the jamming of Africans into the bow of a ship to an uncomfortable ride on an airplane is insane.

Africa is a colonized nation. There for a person cannot say that we are better off in this country. The african  has been subjected to an underminding of development just like african americans have.
