not so they hurt themselves, but so the prey can't get out, kinda like a arrow tip

did u know that their teeth are angled inwards so when there prey tries to swimm away it hurts itself

i've read some of the comments below and as usual witnessed idiots talking, you miss the whole point of fishing. this guy was jigging for kingies and hooked a mako amongst a sunny calm day on the ocean with whales passing, seals playing, fish jumping and sharks circling....some people just dont get it.

Proof if any were needed that fishing is zero skill and all about how strong the rod and line are...... anyone could have done this...and before any fisheing "experts" start - yes I have caught a big fish, and unless you can beat a 950lb blue marlin I'd keep quiet - I still think it's a zero skill hobby.
