I don't know where people get so many misconceived notions about taekwondo. It was never developed as a sport martial art, and only become an Olympic sport in 2002. It really mixes a few different styles together like Shotokan Karate, Hapkido, Taekkyon, and others. It also depends on the school. Some train exclusively for sport, while others (like mine) train in traditional methods for a real fight.

In your class, do you use the ball of your foot to strike when doing a round house kick, or do you use the instep? Thank you.
