Exactly.. I'd love to be able to say that I've popped rivets off of my aircraft. And slicing through ground effect like that (on the low pass over that ridge)? Incredible. They should have made him a flight instructor as soon as they started noticing his skills! It's a shame that pilots never had the chance to learn from such a courageous, skilled and wonderful man!
Hey. congrats on the multi engine training. I used to fly. I miss it badly! Too expensive! This Lt Col was a good guy but he took too many chances and did it on purpose. It wasn't an error. He was blatently trying to do these manuevers. It was part of the airshow. Look at some of the other video from years past at that same base. 92 and 93. You'll see what I am talking about. He almost lost it in 93 but recovered in time. I was there. You see nobody complained because it looked cool.
I hate to be the one that has to correct you here but the "co" on this mission was the commander of one of the bomber squadrons.. He knew exactly what was going to go on. You see, the guy that was "supposed" to be in the rt seat was the base commander(a full bird col) Howevr, he had to attend the memorial service for the victims of the Dean Melburg shooting at the time of the flight. Consequently they gave it to a captain. The captains commander said no to that and flew instead to protect him
