@adhominum25 Yep, the claim the US somehow brought down the USSR is pure hubris and arrogance.

Stephen Holmes: "What is law?...Law is [mainly] a system for helping rich people keep thier money...". in a nutshell excellent.

an excerrpt from book 'MONARCHY' by Arif Jamal
'Monarch is in a superior position, as compared to president, to create and sustain the aristocracy, again an essential and a vital constituent of a thriving civilization.'

@adhominum25 Yup, the decline of the USSR literally began in the early Brezhnev years, in the early 1970s.

Watch the video where holmes is intervewed by harold channer, good one there too.

He is offering his sincere opinion on the reasoning for the Iraq war, and he briefly validates the terrorist attack on 9/11 to avoid being looked upon as another conspiracy theorist.
Just like Noam Chomsky. Speaks to remain politically correct considering most people cannot understand the truth about 9/11

Fair point gpc31.
I msut however remind you that Reagan's inlfuence on "winning" the cold war was minimal. By the time he took office internal memos from the sate department (now since released) clearly show that the USSR was already fastly crumbling. Gorbachov's move to Perastroika was a radical attempt to save the Soviet union from falling into exactly the state of ruination that Reagan's hawkish pressure ensured
