Egyptian Music Played on a Replica Ancient Lyre (1 of 4)

A performance on replica lyre, of the traditional Egyptian folk song, "Salah". This melody can be heard at studio quality, on track 5 of my album, "An Ancient Lyre" - CD available from:

The lyre I am playing, is similar to the "Tanbura" - the African Bowl Lyre (with a soundboard of taut leather - similar to the ancient Greek "Lyra"), still played in Egypt, along with the Simsimiyya: as heard on the fabulous recordings of the Egyptian band from Port Said, "El Tanboura"...regretably, my "microphone" is almost as ancient as the music I like to play - apologies in advance, for the crappy sound quality in this video!
