I think the reviewers got it just right and before I get shott down in flames, yes I did read the book.
I thought it was childish, moronic nonsense and I truly despair at the lack of discernment and good old fashioned common sense displayed in the nasty and aggressive comments in reply to it.
It's about the message in the movie and not the movie itself. the days of them controlling our minds are over. We don't need those at the top to tell us how we should think, be, or do anymore. I love this movie so much!
I take the unusual step of saying something negative about these pompous, arrogant, fat cunts who think that anyone is remotely interested in their talentless ramblings and the mutual masturbation of each other's egos. They truly missed the point of the story and probably never read the book. Furthermore, they behave like would be censors, proclaiming their right to deny our enjoyment of this truly original and uplifting story. These men probably enjoy telling children that Santa doesn't exist.
it's interesting to hear the other side's perspective. What would be better is to hear a review from people who actually read the book. They didn't seem to get the whole message, at the least, the movie should have been able to convey it, which from what I've heard and read it didn't do very well. The movie "Siddhartha" wasn't that good either, but the book is astonishing. Maybe the purpose is to visualize scenes for us who have read it and get those who haven't to want to do so.
