  • Awesome, glad they helped!

  • thanks for your videos. I was having problems with my o/b notes choking (usually at a gig!)..thought my technique was the problem, but i now realise the harp just needs adjustment. does this info work for overdraws too? some my harps work ok, but others just jam up. rgds Keri B. NewZealand

  • If you get lucky, sometimes all a reed needs is correct gapping to be very playable, including overblows and overdraws. But there are several reasons that it might not be sufficient. Reed profiles, air leaks, reed indexing, etc.

  • thanks for taking the time to make this video Joe. I have only been harping for 3 months now. Working on harps has become a hobby, which is good as I will be retiring soon. Being a rank beginner I have collected a bunch of trashed harps, taken them apart, sanitized and have begun to piddle with them. Tonight I was able to take a trashed Swan 10 hole with problems, and using your video I was able to gap the reeds properly and also indexing (side to side clearances) and achieve a tunable reed,

  • These are great videos, Joe, thanks for posting them. I got my first leaky Bluesmaster the other day. My others have been great but the latest was a real leaky lemon! It was a load of hassle to get it so I didn't want to send it back. With your videos to give me the courage to proceed I've improved it hugely and while not the best player in my collection it's pretty good and I'll have another go at it soon to see if I can reach perfection! Great stuff, thanks again for the info and instruction.

  • Hi... I was wondering what is yout strategy regarding overdraws and torsional vibrations... It seems like the only solution is waxing the rivet, at least from what I see.. Thanks guy...

  • Thanks for the demo Joe, great info. and audio/visual.

Good place to start without tearing up a bunch of harps.

  • God bless you Joe! I was kind of despererate before finding your videos, I've worked with my golden melody and it sounds much better than before. Tks again.

  • Thanks Joe.
