The Prime Minister has refused to inaugurate the proposed parking project at Gurdwara Rakab Ganj Sahib after evidence was provided to him regarding the corruption being committed by Sarna brothers in the same. This information was revelead by Sh. Jasjit Singh, the president of Shiromani Akali Dal Delhi-UK, at a press conference organised here today.
Jasjit Singh told that Sarna brothers had invited prime minister Dr. Manmohan Singh to inaugurate the parking project so that they could misuse his great reputation and embezel billions of rupees of innocent people. But due to the timely exposure of their conspiracy, by Shiromani Akali Dal Delhi-UK with the help of other active people and religious organisations of India and abroad; the honourable prime minister has distanced himself from this project. The press conference turned sensational when Jasjit Singh distributed the copies of the letter issued by PMO in this regard. He said by this plausible step of the h'ble prime minister, Sarna brothers would not be able to further misguide the Sikhs of India and abroad and to collect huge donations from them. He expressed surprise on the fact that Sarna brothers were still misinforming the public by stating that the prime minister had postponed the inauguration of the parking project for now while the truth was that the PM altogether had altogether refused to inaugurate this project.
Jasjit Singh told that Sarna brothers knew that owing to their corrupt and anti-Sikh policies, their victory in the next general elections of DSGMC is next to impossible. Therefore, to influence the voters and the members of DSGMC by doling out money, Sarna brothers have started amassing huge election fund through corrupt means. That is why the parking project, whose cost was being told upto Rs. 50 crores till some days ago, had suddenly been turned into a project of Rs. 350 crores. Jasjit Singh claimed that according to reliable sources, Sarna brothers had already collected donations worth approximately Rs. 70 crores.
Jasjit Singh told that the Sarna brothers had already got closed the Darshani Diodhi (main ornamental gate) for the public passage. Besides, they wanted to close the second main gate also. He said that such activities of Sarna brothers had outraged the feelings of the Sikh community because during the British period, Sikhs had made great sacrifices to maintain the existence of these very gates and the historic wall of Gurdwara Rakab Ganj. He said that the Sikhs would now again launch agitation to maintain the historic structure of Gurdwara Rakab Ganj Sahib and would fail all the conspiracies of Sarna brothers.
Jasjit Singh informed that Sarna brothers had already spent Rs. 27 lacs on the publicity of the parking project and were about to spend Rs. 1 crore for its advertisement on various radio stations. He reminded that just some years back, Sarna brothers had got demolished a govenment-aided school of historic value, located in
Gurdwara Bangla Sahib complex, for no achievement while 95 per cent expenses of the school were being incurred by the governement. He said the there were very poor students studying in the school but Sarna brothers demolished their future in the name of polishing the building of the Gurdwara.
Jasjit Singh explained the fact that an average new car generally costs around Rs. 3 lacs and only around 3000 cars could be parked into the parking being proposed by Sarna brothers. He said that it was evident that there would be an expense of Rs. 11.66 lacs for creating the space of parking in that project, even though the land would be used freely for the same. He asked Sarna brothers how expending money four times the cost of the car, just for parking it on a few days of the year, would be beneficial.
Jasjit Singh appealed to the Sikhs of India and abroad that the should not donate money for the disputed parking project as this amount was being routed to a personal trust with membership only of Sarna's accomplices, rather than the accounts of DSGMC. He suggested that such money could be used to provide free education to the needy students and to complete the hospital constructed by late Baba Harbans Singh at Gurdwara Bala Sahib, which has converted into ruins due to the corruption of Sarna brothers. He appealed to the government that criminal cases should be filed against Sarna brothers and the money deposited in the accounts of various trusts established by Sarna brothers should be brought back into the accounts of DSGMC. He warned that if the government failed to do so, then his party would do the same with the help of legal experts. He said that the corruption committed by Sarna brothers had no parallel in the complete Sikh history.
