  • I loved the video. It gave me some tips i will try. I need to know how to increase the ingredients quantity without spoiling the cake for about 100 people. Can you help me.

  • Fruitcake is very rich, and the slices should be very thin. This recipe makes 2 fruitcakes, which can serve 25 people or more. If you want to serve 100 people, you should make 6 - 8 fruitcakes. That's a lot of fruitcake to make at one time. Maybe you should make 2 at a time.

  • I dont sell them....just bake for my family and friends.

  • Beautiful!!!! a master piece

    Worthy of a standing ovation

  • Thanks so much!

  • It was nice to get a glimpse of you! I'm a mormon, so don't use alcohol, so I'd substitute juice, but otherwise, it's my kind of cake! Yumm. And, you have a washing machine in your kitchen! A woman after my own heart! People criticise me for cooking on mine! LOL.

  • What an amazing pile of fruit! And none of that candied stuff, either! Perfecto! I can relate to your nice cozy kitchen, too!

  • Hey, I love fruitcake. I wrote a song about it.....comments/ratings welcomed.

  • The brown paper used..is that just a brown paper bag or some magical paper i dont know about??

  • My aunt made a similar fruitcake but she always basted hers (for at least a month) in black current wine. It was devine!

  • I use a similar recipe with dried fruits. I always used dark rum to soak the fruit and amaretto to "doctor it up" in the weeks before Christmas, but I think I will try the French brandy. I love your style and enjoy your videos. You are a cool lady!!

  • Thank you so much for sharing this recipe. I have already written down the instructions and with no doubt will try one next Christmas. My family will love it, that's for sure. Thank you for the video, it is so easy to follow!

  • Thanks for another great video Joyce! It reminded me when I was a kid at home and Mom made fruit cake for Christmas. She did the brown bag thing also, with the tube cake insert in a stock pot. I hate to admit it, but as a kid I only liked the batter, not the cake. ( I know you shouldn't eat raw eggs). However, as an adult, I like the cake. I think I will try to make one next Christmas.
