Brent Barry was a very athletic and talent player in his early career, mainly with the Clippers and Sonics. He had great potential to be a star in the NBA. Brent Barry is known by his nickname, "Bones", and stands 6 ft 7 in (2.01 m).

Barry is the son of Hall of Famer Rick Barry, and is arguably the best player of the four basketball-playing Barry sons, the others being (from oldest) Scooter, Jon, and Drew. Brent, the second youngest, has also played for the Los Angeles Clippers, Miami Heat, Chicago Bulls, and Seattle SuperSonics. He won the Slam Dunk Contest in the NBA All-Star Weekend in 1996 with a Julius Erving-inspired slam dunk in which he took off from the free throw line to sail in and dunk one-handed.

In the summer of 2004, Barry was signed as a free agent by the San Antonio Spurs. After spending most of the season as a reserve, Barry was inserted into the starting lineup during the first round of the 2005 NBA Playoffs; the Spurs' new lineup helped them come back from a 0-1 series deficit to beat the Nuggets in the series four games to one. Later in those same playoffs, Barry earned his first championship ring when the Spurs defeated the Detroit Pistons in the 2005 NBA Finals.

Brent Barry is generally considered a good passer, and has had three seasons where he averaged more than 5 assists per game. Barry is also a strong three-point shooter; he currently ranks 10th all-time in career 3-point field goals made and has shot 40% from behind the arc for his career. These two strengths, combined with Barry's 6- 7 frame, allows him to play a variety of positions, including point guard, shooting guard, and small forward; because he is taller than most point guards, he is often considered a point forward when he is running the offense. Brent Barry ranks #2 in the NBA in Three-Point Field Goals Per 48 Minutes(3.75).He Ranks #4 in the NBA in Three-Point Field-Goal Percentage(0.457), Ranks #43 in the NBA in Three-Point Field Goal Attempts(208.0), and Ranks #22 in the NBA in Three-Point Field Goals Made(95.0)as of March 1st 2007. His highest season score in a game was 31 twice in his career. Barry may not be the teams #1 scorer but he works behind the scenes and sets up many plays for the others to score. Not to mention his all-time high of 7 consecutive 3pt shots made twice in his career. Barry has been considered one of the most under appreciated players of his generation. In June 2007 he won his second NBA championship ring when the Spurs swept the Cleveland Cavaliers 4--0.

  • @500ncb whatever the clueless jackson MIGHT do with the warriors still has yet to be seen. i just got my doubts about the guy, despite his on the court skills, on top of his sideline douchebaggery.

  • @AvEryBadApPLe mark jackson is the all time 3rd assist leader. I know sometimes he offended people with his stupid remarks, but he's pretty great as a player.

  • He could have been the white magic johnson. what a waste.

  • why didn't someone ever consider letting his pop coach a nba team? seriously, mark jackson, wtf?!

  • Brent Barry proves that white men CAN jump. :)

  • i love Brent, but you have to admit that his dad would own his ass mwahahaha

  • I always wondered why this song is matched up with a Brent Barry highlight video. So random.

  • @youngjamal I'm 38, born and raised in Seattle, a Sonics and Blazers fan, and if Brent Barry isn't my all-time favorite player, he may be my all-time favorite! Jack Sikma and Clyde Drexler are up there, too.

  • @VeoShock I'm Seattle born and raised, and thank Heaven that I got to watch one of my all-time favorite players for five years in Brent Barry. To be honest, as a Sonic and Blazers fan, I did NOT know in 2009 when the Rockets played the Blazers, I saw Barry throw down a dunk, not knowing that he could still do it. I know that he's had some injuries in his later years.

  • oh my gosh, i loved watching barry play even when he was old and playing for the spurs. i really wish i'd seen him play in his prime now
