www.arbutusyarns.com :: The Nazca Lines are a series of geoglyphs located in the Nazca Desert, a high arid plateau that stretches more than 80 kilometres (50 mi) between the towns of Nazca and Palpa on the Pampas de Jumana in Peru. Although some local geoglyphs resemble Paracas motifs, these are largely believed to have been created by the Nazca culture between 200 BCE and 700 CE. There are hundreds of individual figures, ranging in complexity from simple lines to stylized hummingbirds, spiders, monkeys, fish, sharks or orcas, llamas, and lizards.

The lines are shallow designs in the ground where the reddish pebbles that cover the surrounding landscape have been removed, revealing the whitish earth underneath. Hundreds are simple lines or geometric shapes, and more than seventy are natural or human figures. The largest are over 200 metres (660 ft) across. Scholars differ in interpreting what the lines were for but generally ascribe religious significance to them. "The geometric ones could indicate the flow of water or be connected to rituals to summon water. The spiders, birds, and plants could be fertility symbols. Other possible explanations include: irrigation schemes, giant astronomical calendars, or landing for spaceships.[1]"

The dry, windless, stable climate of the plateau has preserved the lines to this day, for the most part. Extremely rare changes in weather may temporarily alter the general designs.

LoL. I'm Indonesian. And I know what he's talking about, this guy speak Indonesian completely unrelated to the subtitle above and the tribes in Nazca, one of which he is talking about "karet ini sama dengan pohon-pohon yang lain" that mean: "rubber is similar to other trees", he is actually talking about plants , namely rubber and palm trees. you've got punk'd by the uploader :D

Wicked Video, thanks for uploading. What he says backs up everything I have been thinking now for some time about our fake history. I have been seeing so called ufos for 11 years solid and knew something wasnt right. When you seen hundreds and some up slose and personal each one tells a story, have a couple of vids that have uploaded of said So called ufos on my channel. 100% real, they are not easy to capture but about 4-5-6 am they let their guards down and that is when i captured 3 on film:)

what if they are just comet traces, meteorites falling down from the sky? lines can mean something is falling off the sky with trailing smoke.

If the dating estimates are correct about the ica/wari people being at a peak about 2000 years ago, i estimate that the 'airstrip' type lines are more recent.

look into the ica/wari culture, look at their artistic style, then look at every picture of the nazca lines you can. you will see ica/wari designs, then you will see some of them have been partially over-written by the "minimalist" airstrip-type lines which would indicate to me that over a span of time there have been different epochs going on.

i believe the people from nazca did not makes these lines....they are far to complex to make for a ancient civilization.....especially when the upper part of the mountain was cut off

@ dombadil... what a crock! the surface is covered in dark rocks, when you remove them theres a light undersoil... the lines have been recreated in modern day by removing the stones to expose subsoil!

also you do not need lead and sand to make glass!!!! superheat sand with lightning and hey presto you have glass without lead!
