I'm a fan of JJ and ben but Kalai is a beast. His music and songwriting blow them to out of the water.

Love this guy, people comparing him to Jack J and Ben Harper are selling him short IMO. Those guys are great too, but this guy is plain different.

For all the Ben, Jack and Kalai comparisons: I've seen all three live and I think Kalai put on the best show. He has better licks and vocal range than Ben.He really only needs to be compared to Ben; if you play a Jack Johnson CD at a train station, you've essentially been to A J.J. concert.
For what it's worth, that's my take. I don't know if it's online anywhere, but Kalai does a Voodoo Chile medley that transcends time and space.
