When I was 11 I asked the public librarian for the book. She very wisely didn't give it to me. I finally read Sybil a few years ago. My colleague at work told me about a book about the book Sibyl Exposed. Sybil was a rouse.Shirley Mason didn't really have 13 personalities. Dr. Wilbur gave her drugs to make her hallucinate.

i've just watched the version from 1976 now watching this one, i think until now there isnt really a big differency.

Ok. I am watching this version for the first time. but I can't imagine anyone other than Sally Field in this role. I will give it a chance, I swear. The story is timeless and phenomenal.

This movie was more like the book, except Shirley never attacked Dr Wilbur as this movie did.

@Alishondra Sally Field's portrayal of Shirly Mason aka "Sybil" is UNBELIEVABLE. I honestly don't understand why this story was remade when the original should've just been re-released to the public because it's incredibly hard to find these days.
