  • @MoneyIsSilver Sure it would make sense to pay your workers a decent wage, but it doesn't always happen. History is replete with bloody examples of labor related violence. We have protections for unions and a welfare state because if we don't, there will be revolution and war.

  • @donteatthefishsticks I'll let you have the last word since you're using a troll account, but I'm gonna mark it as spam too.

  • @donteatthefishsticks "Government has a better track record protecting property rights than anarchy"

You have no proof for that statement, I know because its totally false. Maybe anarchy right after the fall of statism, but actual long term anarchic societies like ancient Ireland and Iceland were actually very peaceful. You're totally lost on Government too. You don't have any property rights right now, you fool. The gov you think is so protective steals property all the time.

  • @donteatthefishsticks "it is going to be your guns and your hired security against their guns and bloodshed is inevitable."

You're an idiot...wouldn't it make more sense for me to pay my workers a decent wage so this doesn't happen? Isn't that the whole argument? In a free society, workers get paid what they're worth, they don't get to DEMAND pay. Few, if any of the fat overpaid teachers in WI are showing up with guns cause dependent people are generally pussies.

  • @donteatthefishsticks And an oil company must pay tax because the oil that they exploit does not belong to them. A polluter must pay tax because the air he pollutes does not belong to him. The Earth belongs to all people in common and any time your usage of it deprives other people of the usage of it, you pay some tax.

  • @MoneyIsSilver @MoneyIsSilver If looters are inevitable then I will take the looters I have some way to influence democratically. Government has a better track record protecting property rights than anarchy. America is supposed to be about government of the people, by the people, for the people. I believe that is still possible and certainly preferable to your world where we deal with criminals, indeed everything, with mob justice because there is no justice system.

  • @MoneyIsSilver I do not see how you are going to defend all of your property with physical violence. If you own a business with some employees, and the workers decide to stage a communist coup, it is going to be your guns and your hired security against their guns and bloodshed is inevitable. We need a system of codifying what belongs to whom and a way to resolve disputes and get people to put the guns down. Besides a landowner has to pay tax because his labor did not create the land.

  • @donteatthefishsticks You seem to think that those situations are dealt with fairly now - they aren't. You can dress up idiots with badges and titles, but they're still idiots. So instead of just a regular armed gang stealing your property, you give that armed gang a moral authority to steal from you.

The looters don't disappear because you create government, they just become the government.

  • @MoneyIsSilver If the only thing guaranteeing your property is your firearms, what happens when a group of people come along with more firearms, or when you and your neighbor cannot agree on where your property ends and his begins, and there is oil or gold under the property? You have the right to own the product of your labor, but nobody's labor put that there, or put the land there, so the owners pay taxes to compensate those whose share of the common ownership of the Earth has been stolen.

  • @donteatthefishsticks My property rights aren't guaranteed at all by the state. By giving them the power they can take it away whenever they want, and by since you have to pay to live there, you're a tenant, not an owner.

My property rights come from a inter-subjective consensus that my house is mine, as well as the firearms I have to defend it. If you think the state protects your right to property, you either haven't lived very long or you've been very lucky.
