I think he's pretty bold with his statements, but maybe that's just me.
GOD Bless you Francis!

As far how the hebrews gave , tithing was separate and it was 10% , other offerings supported the entire community and Goverment. So to be fair you would need t include our Tax and Tithes and that in this day would be greater than what The Hebrews gave. Please do some research. God Bless

Divide the cost of maintaining a church building among the number of members. Each person should pay at least that amount if they can but not more. With whatever additional money you can donate, give it directly to those who need it without handing it blindly over to your church who have almost no accountability these days. As an individual, you'll be more effective giving to needy causes than those doing it on your behalf in your church. Leaders are just as greedy today.

@Polaris431 true. but I guess people are so greedy that they have to ask...

@conversekitty20 The basis for tithing, at least in the modern Christian sense, isn't anything close to what the purpose of it was for the original Hebrews. The Levites owned no land and received a 10th of only certain property. They were devoted to serving God and therefore really needed the support. Today however, the amount gathered and the percent given to the poor and needy and spreading the Gospel is pathetic. Churches shouldn't be asking for money. People should give what they can.

@Polaris431 But I think it's about obeying. it's not about rules. I think he gives it for a background. I mean it's still the same. If you love God, you will do God's things. even if it's not a rule

Really good sermon
Few churches give up 50% Franics has givin over $2,000,000 of his money from books. He made $2,000,000 and gave $2,000,000. Please do not Judge what you do not know. Our church was built by its members and it cost money so that is where the other 50% goes and if the 50% for the church is not enough, we do not take it from the 50% for outreach. I am all for giving to charities directly, however it does not mean I dont give to the church
