NBC News said people turn to network marketing in soft economy.

It might sound like a pyramid scheme to some, but marketing experts say its not.

These are legitimate businesses, though you want to make sure youre working for a good business, always, Dr. Betsy Holloway of Samford Universitys Brock School of Business said.

Its called network marketing or multi-level marketing (MLM) and its been around for decades.

Companies like Amway, The Pampered Chef, and Tupperware work under similar arrangements.

Doctor Holloway said direct retail like this has been growing for a decade, and theres potential for it to get even bigger.

I think in todays economy with the layoffs that we have and people desperate to find work, theres going to be increased demand in these sorts of opportunities.




MLM means Multi Level Marketing or simply called network marketing. Others refer it to direct selling or direct sales, home based business. This marketing method is something we do everyday. The only difference is we don't get paid when we refer a good restaurant or movie. Industry allows you to wok from home. Other companies in this form of business are ACN, 5Linx, XanGo, Mona Vie, Avon, Tupperware, Amway, efusjon and many more. In this economy many people would like to save money on fuel / gas, but at the same time many also would like to make extra money. Most MLM companies have coaching, training and free websites.
