  • Ryusei SaiGusa,

My son is looking for a way of defense. A friend (who studies Aikido) once told me that it is both brutal and peaceful. He said that Aikido cannot be effectively used offensively since it utilizes the energy of the attacker. Thus, peace is the focus - not competition.

I want him to learn balance, love, strength and confidence. Do you think that Aikido is a good choice for a young man (11 yo). I don't like the idea of learning for belts and matches. Advise please.

  • @mnf752f When I am young, rather than the kind of the martial arts, I am affected by the teacher to teach.

I think that it had better be learned the martial arts that a teacher to teach has good.

My Aikido class does not take a belt system and the match form, too.

But I present a brown belt to the person whom I sent out for memory for a long time.

  • Thank you!

    From Ryusei Saegusa.

  • To Larry Rickenbacker

    High age is more advantageous.

    It's Aikido.

    So your choice is better!

    Ryusei Saegusa.

  • 一人でもできることは沢山あります。

    まずは、弓引き腰と、田植え腰をやってみて下さい。

  • Me too.

    Thank you for your message.

  • lol/ you better watch out for all those pro thai fighters starting shit at your high school.

  • Aikido is bullshit I'm afraid. Every video I've ever seen is just a demonstration, with one guy running at his "opponent" knowing full well that he is going to be blocked with some sort of elaborate fancy throw. In a real life situation this would not happen. I'm sorry but what would aikido do when your squaring upto some one and they headbutt you out the blue and shatter your jaw, or uppercut you clean in the nose, or smash a bottle across your head?.... It wouldn't end of. Its just for show...

  • @ashieboy1995 Aikdio is not just for anybody. Look for an Akido school for a free lesson to get a taste of the action. Feel the harmony is the path for Aikido. There are ways to leave the bad path and move on to the harmony of Aikido.

  • @liaster18 - This is what real fighter training looks like: /watch?v=tOXAsbuuocc

At your age you should be pushing extremely hard because you can recover fast. Don't waste your time with Aikido now. Do it when you're older.

  • @liaster18 - Learn Muay-Thai or MMA first, Aikido second in my opinion kid. You will be 18 by the time Aikido would be useful for you. With Thai you can be effective in little as 2 years if you engage in heavy sparring. I think Aikido is useful, but Thai will help create and develop a warrior spirit. High-school could be rough for some, Aikido won't help you during some of your most important years. Some might disagree, but none of them could stand toe-to-toe with a Pro Thai fighter.

  • I cant be any better than this a nerds paridise :)

  • @nejihyuga901 lol, what is your definition of healthy? what they show you in magazines and TV?

  • @mnf752f I am 11 and i would like to learn Aikido

  • @johnnyjohn0099 going against bigger people is not easy at all. That's why there is a weight class in martial arts - that's what i've been told at least. Maybe the same rules apply to aikido, but according to what has been said such as having old ppl being able to do aikido, it seems like anyone can do it.

  • aikido jajajaj
