one is not better than the other based on my opinion,they will be equally nasty in attitude if not handled and properly trained. ive had both and they are both very sweet when handled thoroughly.
but i digress and always recommend the bosc monitor aka Savannah monitor just so damn fresh!!

use coconut husk aka eco earth the aspen is kinda dry unless that's what ur going for i think aspen gives it the grassland of Africa feeling just the dry grassy feel u know.
