Hand Plane Demo http://AskWoodMan.com/
In this video I hand plane using our sharpened blade on four boards of hard woods. Curly hard maple, white oak, yellow pine, and ribbon striped mahogany.
This is the 39th video in my complete sharpening series. In this series I will use the following tools and machines: Makita 9820 electric water stone with an after market sharpening jig, Bosch belt sander, Porter Cable belt sander, Mitutoyo combination square, General Sharpening Jig, DMT Diamond Stones, and various chisels, plane irons and scrapers.

@attainableapex Hey thanks for the comment. I know many people like to measure shavings, but I'm not really interested in that aspect. I'm only concerned with the results. For me hand planing is just one operation in a many, many step process when building furniture, etc... The question for me is, is this wood ready to sand?
Thanks again for tuning into my channel.

should get some calipers and see the thickness of the shavings.
