So is it powerful enough to cut glass? or would it actually reflect like you would see in a movie?

Either its focused really bad or its not 40 watts. I have had 5 watt argons set pencils on fire faster. They would punch a hole through your styrofoam backing in a second.

cool laser, FAPs can be purchased on ebay cheap the only problem is the powersupply which are expensive. a TEC and a pc waterblock could chill the laser also...

Nice. But why is there a lens after the fibre-output? Spot could be so much smaller and more intense.
