@JUDALATION But you have to go through a background check to officially purchase a gun (unless you get one through the black-market or, as you say, under the table). We will never be able to stop people from selling guns between one another; thus, your logic is superfluous.

I'm all for gun ownership and I guess I've been told I'm a liberal, though I do believe they need to be regulated so people don't get shot and so the illegal owners can be arrested but i dont see why people shouldn't be able to own guns.

@snakeboy855 Total Logic Fail! Guns dont grow on trees! Its easier for a violent rapist or felon to get a Gun than a Job. Every Gun should be registered with a person so that if that gun is used in a crime it can be traced to the Owner. Private owners sell their guns without background checks even though the Government will do it for free. They put greed over the publics safety. A simple law change can prevent hundreds of thousands of robberies, rapes, and murders PER YEAR!
