Our goal is to construct a building for the local Primary School consisting of three classrooms. Currently, the students are taught in classrooms made of corn stalks with dirt floors and desks that are in serious disrepair. As the school consists of four grade levels of 101 students, it qualifies as an official school yet each year, for the past six years since its founding, the school is neglected and government funding is delayed until the next year. In a country where it is not yet possible for every child to be educated due to schools being inaccessible, the villagers are aware of how special their school is and how fortunate they are to be able to give their children an education from well trained educators. All they lack is a safe, clean, comfortable learning space. Although they do not have the financial resources to achieve this on their own, the community has pledged to contribute a considerable amount of materials and labor.

Thank you for watching.

  • this is a great video. thanks for making it. i have my interview in the morning and am getting excited. i recognize the song...what is it called?

  • hey, great video. can you tell me the name of that song in your video? thanks.

  • Yes! It got completely funded. However, they haven't finished building it. The rains began and they had to be in the fields all day. Things will start slowing down soon and they will finish. All it needs is the roof. Will post pictures when it is completed! And thanks for your interest!

  • Did the building get funded? Please post new photos. Also, would love to know which five villages, in which region? APCD Botswana, former study abroad student in Senegal

  • UGH I feel like I need to join this Peace Corps after I'm done with school. I've wanted to since I was like 14.

  • I'm joining the peace corps. This kind of work is my calling.

  • That's a negative attitude. People get raped, mugged and killed here in the states. Being a Peace Corps Volunteer is VERY safe.

  • to ujikaweapon1.. yes, people do care. very few out there, but we do.

  • oh okay, thanks. i looked up "London" and it didn't have vocals so i was confused
