This is a great little cartoon. There's lots of back and forth argument in these comments which is expected but honestly I don't get how this is solely a 'feminist thing'. Telling young people, especially young women, that happiness does not just exist within marriage or relationships is a good thing. It can but it's just not for everyone. Happiness comes differently for everyone and if we want children to grow up into happy adults I feel that it's important to convey this message to them.

my mom said that she bought this for me because it was feminist propaganda, and she wanted me to grow up to be a strong independant woman. :D

Wow, I love how this is the only part of the movie that didn't universally get five stars and has people freaking out in the comments. Almost every fairy tale and Disney musical teaches young girls that the most important thing in the world is having a man. Why not show them ONE cartoon with a different message? I always liked how open-ended this story is, with Atalanta and John becoming friends and maybe more one day - but the moral is that they both pursue their dreams and are happy.
