Bonjour all,

I am sure you remember from my other videos, when I installed my mirror effect screen protector from HD Accessories. Well I loved everything about that little bad boy, all except the fact of having very limited ability to actually see the screen in broad daylight. A work around to this was to turn my backlight to full beam, which as you know, dematically reduces your battery life.

So, thats not what this video is about, more about the screen protector installation.

For execution of this process you will need the following: iPhone 3g/Screen protector (brand of your choice, I use a switch easy in this example)/ a squiggle with a nice wide surface area, ex. a tea coaster/ micro fiber and a well lit room!

1.Take your iPhone and clean it with your microfiber until you are absolutely sure no dust particles exist on the screen.
2.Take your screen protector and asses which side is adhesive and which is the protective film.
3.Position you iPhone in a comfortable position so that you have a full surface view for positioning of the screen protector as accurately as possible.
4.Once the assessment of position is made and you are satisfied to continue, peel back the adhesive side of the screen protector and ever so carefully place the edges of the adhesive in line with the iPhone screens edge and align with the bezel.

Note: Advantage of products such as the switch easy screen protectors, are that they may be lifted and repositioned without loss of adhesive. This enables improved accuracy and better coverage assessment. Another point for switch easy ;)

5.Now you are satisfied that the screen is positioned correctly, peel back the remaining adhesive side. At the same time as your peeling, follow seam with your wide are squeegee, elimenting any air pockets collected during the process.

Note: Time is not your enemy. Take as much or as little time as you need. I am blessed with good eyesight and was able to execute the stages of application fairly rapidly. This is by no means a reason for you have to do it this way. Take your time and remember, if it doesnt look right, its not probably isnt! Simply peel back your protector and reapply. Be careful not to collect any dust particles or to touch the adhesive!

6.Finally you have your screen protector in place and your are satisfied no air pockets are existing. Its time to peel back the protective film
7.Simply take hold of the tab labeld protective film and ever so carefully peel directly back in a fluid motion. Take causion and dont be heavy handed, you dont want to take of the adhesive protector during this course.
8.Now you are all done, use you microfiber to spruce up the shine of your newly placed screen protector and marvel at your efforts.

Okay, well I hope you find this video helpful, remember to shoot me any emails with questions and look out for my next video.

  • Wow, hearing you speak is just like listening to Steve or Nicko of (the band) Iron Maiden speak. You sound just like them (though you probably don't think so!). It's funny to me, because you're not even from London, and yet there is a definite resemblance there (again... to me). Anyways... very nice vids! Thanks for making & uploading them. :-)

  • thanks, now i know how to put on my screen protector when i get my ipood Saturday!

  • thank you, you are the first to answer my question youtube knows all! lol

  • @englishtwist I'm in florida and its cold as hell right now I don't know what your talking about

  • how long should you leave them on before you change it for a new one? I use these aswell but when I change them they leave a coating on the screen it comes off after i clean it though ... They are good if you apply them right which is tricky. But I have noticed l8ly when I replace the cover for a new one it leaves a coating on the screen.
