RAV4 95 mph off road

I was driving. Mark took the video. This was a very hasty run, with all the gear still strapped inside and outside. Empty vehicle would break 100 easily. We were using mini-playa for its superior surface.

You can see how long it takes the car to gain the speed. In commercials it's just zip! There!

Wow, that looked like fun! Why did you say you ran out of space in your mini player? Did you try going faster?

A playa is not a player. The word "playa" means the flat surface of the dry lakebed. Blackrock has a far bigger playa where it's enough space to reach any speed. But in recent years the big playa has became rough due to the dust depostits creating small hard dunes. Basically the Burning Man is ruining it.

If other RAV4s joined me, we could map a proper course with braking markers for safety.

Unfortunately BM used up all the good parts of the playa, so everyone else gets squeezed out into the areas with the rougher surface. Just look at the maps of the clousure. Every year the BRC is staked further and further north.
