i have the same problem. i just put an new piston and rings in mine and after getting it all back together it makes the same noise as this
-
I have the same thing on my 01 400 ex, its your rockers, springs, crank, and bearings in the top end , mine needs a new head from being low on oil.

if u dont have loss of powere and it responds to throttle great ride the piss out of it its HONDA
-
Mine did that the whole time i had it about 2 years.. I always just thought it was the cams hitting the valve buckets.. I rode the piss out of mine and nothing engine related ever broke it was a 99 i got rid of it last year and it still ran like a champ i think you'll be alright its a Honda not a ford
-
mine was like that and i had to replace head, valves, lifters, cam, timing chain, and more. if u put a racing timing chain in there u wont have to worry bout that for a while cus there stronger and wider
-
it wont blow up tho it its just the valvs will it?
-
mine also has a ticking noise not nearly this loud, and i just got valves adjusted 5 months ago. the sound is coming from the right side of the engine, does anybody no what it cud possibly be?

@ronny696969 yea i tore it down, and the exhaust valves were way too loose, (about .1 inches). The cam chain was really worn and the cam chain tensioner was broken. The "clacking" noise was the valves and the loose cam chain hitting the tensioner...
